Cable fire protection is a set of measures that stop flame from spreading along cable lines and prevent fire from passing from one room to another along cable routes and through the points where cables cross walls and floors. Cable runs pass through the whole building or production hall, so an unprotected route becomes a ready-made channel for fire and smoke. STABITERM manufactures materials for cable fire protection and cable penetration sealing and supplies them from its warehouse in Tashkent across Uzbekistan.
Why cable lines need separate protection
Most cable sheaths — PVC, polyethylene or rubber — are combustible. In a bundle or on a tray, cables heat each other, so flame travels along the route faster than along any other structure. A burning sheath releases dense toxic smoke, and where the route passes through walls and floors it opens a path for fire into the next fire compartment. Cable fire protection therefore does two jobs: it slows flame spread along the line itself and keeps the fire-resistance rating of the barrier where the cable crosses it.
What we protect
- Cable lines, bundles, trays and ducts — in switchrooms, on cable racks, in cable floors, tunnels and shafts.
- Cable and utility penetrations in walls, partitions and floors — restoring the fire-resistance rating of the barrier.
- Joints, seams and movement joints in fire barriers — sealing against fire, smoke and gas.
STABITERM materials for cable fire protection
- STABITERM 225 — fire-retardant paint for cables with PVC, polyethylene and rubber sheaths. At high temperature the coating intumesces and forms a porous heat-insulating layer that stops flame spreading along the line. Fire-protective performance is confirmed to GOST R 53311. Works indoors and outdoors; applied by brush, roller or airless spray. Supplied ready to use.
- STABITERM 300 — fire-protective mesh: a flexible composite material that forms a porous heat-insulating layer when heated. Installed without special equipment or surface preparation; the cable stays accessible for replacement and pulling new lines.
- STABITERM 008 — fire-protective sealing compound for cable penetrations through walls, floors and partitions. A dry mix on a mineral binder, mixed with water on site; it does not shrink or crack and can be removed to lay new cables.
- STABITERM 010 — water-based fire-resistant acrylic sealant for cable and pipe penetrations, joints and movement joints. Elastic; does not let smoke, gas or water through; supplied in buckets and cartridges.
- STABITERM 021 — fire barrier block made of an intumescent material: quick to install in penetrations of any configuration; when heated it expands and seals the opening tightly.

Paint or mesh: which to choose for a cable route
STABITERM 225 paint forms a continuous coating on the sheath and suits long routes, trays and bundles, including outdoors. STABITERM 300 mesh is installed without any liquid coating and is convenient where cables are often replaced or added. Many facilities combine the two: the main route is painted, and sections that need quick access to the cable are wrapped in mesh. A detailed comparison is in the article “Cable fire protection: paint or mesh?”.
Cable penetrations through walls and floors
The point where a cable crosses a fire barrier is the weakest junction. The opening is filled with STABITERM 008 sealing compound or a STABITERM 021 block, joints and edges are sealed with STABITERM 010 sealant, and the cable near the junction is protected with paint or mesh. Types of penetrations, their pros and cons and how to choose a solution for each are covered on a separate page: “Fire protection of cable and utility penetrations”.
How we work
- Task. You send the design, a cable schedule or photos of the junctions and the required fire-resistance rating.
- Selection. We choose materials for each type of junction and operating condition — indoors or outdoors, permanent or frequently changed cables.
- Calculation. We work out the quantity of materials for the scope of work.
- Supply. We ship from our warehouse in Tashkent and deliver to cities across the republic.
- Support. We advise on application and installation and hand over the documents for the materials.
Documents
Fire safety certificate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, certificate of conformity, quality passport for each batch — on request.

Frequently asked questions
Does fire-retardant paint affect the cable’s current rating?
For STABITERM 225, fire-protective performance and the derating factor for continuous current are determined to GOST R 53311 “Fire-protective cable coatings”. We will send the values for your cable together with the documents for the material.
Can cables be protected outdoors?
Yes. The STABITERM 225 coating is designed for use indoors — in heated and unheated rooms — and outdoors, for example on cable racks.
How do you seal a cable penetration in a wall?
The opening is filled with STABITERM 008 sealing compound or a STABITERM 021 block, and joints and edges are sealed with STABITERM 010 sealant. The exact solution depends on the size of the opening, the services passing through it and the required fire-resistance rating.
Do you deliver to other cities in Uzbekistan?
Yes. Materials are in stock in Tashkent, with next-day delivery to cities across the republic.
